Project Overview: The Community Movement Commons, anchored by the Neighborhood Birth Center, is a unique collective of social justice non-profits. The renovated 3000 SF 3.5 story community house and the newly proposed 8,000 SF 2 story birth center will be home to midwives, and healers. In 2021, several non-profits, including the Neighborhood Birth Center and Center for Economic Democracy, envisioned a social justice hub in Boston. They hired CoEverything to find a location, leading to the purchase of 14 Winthrop St. in 2023. Since then, we’ve organized various events, fundraising, neighborhood outreach, and governance support, as well as the renovation of the design for the community house.
