Castle of our Skins celebrates Black artistry through concerts and education; after the City awarded them a permanent home, we became their architect for their new space, called Harriet Tubman Hall.
Project Overview: Castle of our Skins has spent years celebrating Black artistry through concerts, education, and community programming without a room of their own. In 2024 the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture awarded them a 2,500 SF ground floor retail space in seven story mixed use building in the South End. Harriet Tubman Hall occupies the site of the former Harriet Tubman House, a historic beacon of support and empowerment for Boston’s Black community. This new space continues that legacy by creating an intimate hub where Black creativity can thrive! CoEverything started with an INSPIRE workshop and the fundraising collateral to make the case, and in 2026 signed on as architect from design development through construction administration.
CoEverything Highlights:
Facilitated a virtual internal INSPIRE and public IMAGINE Workshop with participants, using live polling, online surveys and visual-preference exercises in breakout groups so neighborhood opinion turned into actual design direction.
Developed impactful marketing and fundraising materials for the Ribbon Cutting.
CoEverything partnered with ARUP Boston to provide pro bono engineering services - including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, AV, Acoustic, and Theater consulting.
