Haley House Bakery Café has fed and employed its Nubian Square neighbors for decades; we ran the community codesign that shaped the renovated café, then came back as owner's project manager to help deliver it.
Project Overview: For decades, Haley House Bakery Café has done two things at once: feed its Nubian Square neighbors and employ them. When the building closed for a full renovation, the question was how to bring the café back without losing what made it matter. CoEverything came in twice. First to run the community process that defined what the new 2850 SF Baker Café space needed to be, then back on the construction side to help build it.
Special "Co" Features:
Ran a design survey and a series of working sessions with the Haley House staff to set priorities before anything was drawn.
Facilitated a virtual internal INSPIRE and public IMAGINE Workshop with roughly 65 participants, using live polling, online surveys, and visual-preference exercises in breakout groups so neighborhood opinion turned into actual design direction.
Led furniture, fixture, and equipment review with the Haley House team, delivering final engagement and FF&E packages in May 2025.
Returned in 2026 as the Owner's Project Manager to oversee construction.
